Behind the Scenes of Blogging TAG!

My best firend Lauren has made this tag and kindly tagged me, so here I am answering the questions today!

COPY AND PASTE THE RULES

1. You MUST state that this TAG was created by www.thebeaubow.blogspot.com (Lauren)

2. You must use the image I have provided in this post on your post.

3. You must title this post 'Behind the Scenes of Blogging TAG' so everyone knows what it is about!

4. You must tag at least one other person, but there is not a maximum limit! -You will need to comment on their blog to let them know that they are tagged.

5. Thank the person who tagged you and link their blog.

6. You must answer all the questions

7. HAVE FUN!

1. Do you plan for each/some of your blog posts, if so, how do you do this?
Nope. I don't even plain what post for each day! My approach is to just sit down, see what pictures I have and write a review, edit the pictures and press 'Publish'! I expect that if my blog ever becomes really big, I will take everything more seriously and plan everything but for now I enjoy doing it like that!

2. Do you have a blogging notebook/diary where you write and plan about things to do with your blog?
I do, but it's kind of abandoned currently! If I feel panicked like I don't have anything to blog about, I will write a list of possible posts but that's it really...! Mine is from Next and it says 'Beauty Notes' on the front which I think is very appropriate!

3. Do you feel pressured to buy things so that you have something to review on your blog?
Not at all! I  used to with nail blogging, but not so much with general beauty and there is a wider range to write about. Now I have a stash of nail polish that is very unruly haha!

4. Has the style of your posts/blog been influenced by someone else. If so, who?
I think Lauren and I bounce off of each other with our ideas, which is really cool as we can always  talk about our blogs and makeup. I love Zoella, and The Sunday Girl as well as Sprinkle of Glitter too!

5. What are your favourite posts to plan and write about?
I love writing tags, answering questions puts me on the spot! I think they're really interesting, and tagging others is so nice, especially when you let them know!

6. Do you think that your knowledge of makeup (and applying it) has improved because of blogging?
YES! A year ago, I used an extremely shimmery bronze NYC mosaic powder as a contour... now I'm all fancy with Sleek Face Form and I'm much better at applying eyeliner evenly now! I also know what a highlight is and a kabuki brush, yay me! (Anyone remember that from Suite Life of Zac and Cody?)

7. Do you test all products for a certain amount of time before you review them?
When I think that I can confidently write a review, I will. However skincare is different and I try to test that for around a month. If there is a certain claim for example

8. Do you have any other websites for your blog? (e.g, twitter, youtube, bloglovin', or a facebook page etc.)
I have twitter, and bloglovin' but not facebook, because I would rather no one from my school saw it, people can be cruel these days!

9. Do you feel the need to buy something you have wanted EVEN more when you see your favourite blogger talking about it?
YES AGAIN! My weakness is haul videos... I shall say no more.

10. Do you find taking pictures to be a chore, or not?
This is one of my favourite parts! I think it helps that my camera is a decent focuser, as it makes taking pictures more fun and stress free. I love it when I take a photo with the front in focus and the background blurred!

Guilty Hauling...but still bargains!

I kinda went shopping... well I went to the seaside yesterday which happened to be home to a few shops, where I broke my spending ban already but the place wasn't somewhere I go often, so it was a case of 'YOLO'! (Cringe...)

My family and I strolled around the town, looking for a decent fish and chip shop when I came across a small (I believe individual) shop. IT WAS HEAVEN. They had a HUGE range of nail polishes, including a few shelves full of Sinful Colors and even the whole Revlon Top Speed range as well as many others for £1.99. They had some gorgeous Revlon glitters, but I knew they would be something I would only wear once so I managed to stay away.  They had so many products, most from America as some items said 'Target exclusive' and things like that. I could have spent all day in there. I still came home with a Sinful Colors polish called 'Daredevil' which is on my nails now and is the brightest neon pink I own. It is amazing, but incredibly hard to photograph!

I had to mess about with brightness and contrast in the above picture, but the colour is now quite accurate to real life!

Also in the store, they had the entire Dainty Doll range, all under £5! They even had the Wonderbalm, which I was so tempted by! In the end I left the shop quite content actually, with the last of the 3 cream blushes to complete my collection called 'Billion Dollar Babies' and a lipstick, called 'It's My Party' which was a beautiful cross between a red and a pink I could not leave behind. These two items were £2.99 each which wasn't as cheap as Fragrance Direct, but if you add postage it only works out a penny more expensive than if you got it online.

Here's a few images of the lippy...

(Sorry about the blurriness, my camera is good in natural light but as soon as the sun begins to go down, it struggles!)

And now the cream blush in 'Billion Dollar Babies'

As you can see, the colour of the cream blush is a taupe which I purchased to contour with. It is a lot more natural and subtle than my Sleek Face Form contour colour, so it is great for the more innocent makeup days.

The seaside trip didn't go to plan and we left earlier than expected, but on the brightside, we stopped off at an outlet centre. It had a few shops, the main ones being The Body Shop and another makeup discount store. To my sadness, it wasn't a CCO but similar to the one I had been in earlier. Realising I needed at least one of the Revlon glitters in my life, I purchased 'Sparkling' which I have wanted for a long time but I managed to save a lot of money, as it was £1.99!

Lastly, I walked past The Body Shop and popped in, which I always do but seldom by much at all. I found a set of 4 'Born Lippy' lip balms, which were £4.80! I couldn't let this bargain slip, so I got the pack which also contained another colour I already own, so the reason why you only see 3 here is because the other will be going into my giveaway.

That's all then! I'm really sorry I haven't been posting much, life really does get in the way which I know everyone says, but it's truthful!

Talk to you all soon, thank's for reading!

The BIG Birthday Wishlist - Face Edition

Hey everybody!

My birthday is around the corner, and usually I have a big shoppig trip which is something I look forward too. It's normally a girly day with my mum and my best friend Lauren. This is the one exception a year where I go slightly crazy in terms of spending! Que the BIG Birthday Wishlist #1! The first is face products, so let me know if you would like this to be made a weekly feature for a while? I sure can do lip editions, eye editions... even cheek editions haha! The reason I am only doing makeup wishlists for my birthday is that I can never truly be certain what I am lusting after will be in the specific store on the day whereas makeup is more likely to be there unless it is sold out.

I have been after something for a very long time now to cover my dark circles and I've heard this is fabulous! I can't find anything from the drugstore, so it's time to go high end! My purse will hate me, but my under eyes won't (hopefully)!

The reason I want this is to team with the corrector for absolute full coverage. Please let me know if the concealer actually is needed on top! I thought that I could use this on blemishes too though.

I haven't been using powder since I smashed my Rimmel Stay Matte after I dropped it, and even before that I have been using the Real Technqiues Blush Brush anyway so I think a proper brush is in order! I love the Real Techniques range as well, perhaps you would like to see which ones I own? Don't get me wrong, I really would like the Core Collection too! Perhaps even before my brithday I will have to make a cheeky buy... well already I fail at spending bans!

I've seen some impressive reviews on this foundation, and generally I think the price is great and if it lives up to the claims, it could suit my skin well!

I've decided that if I get a powder brush, I might well need a powder! Common sense, eh? I see this one used by pixiwoo all the time and it seems so 'sleek' (see what I did there? Hahaha no I actaully think the packaging looks really sleek though!) and elegant, and I like the idea of it being luminous as I'm all about healthy, dewy, natural skin.

Hopefully I will definitely buy this! I see it used a lot, and my skin can look dull and feel a bit dopwn, so maybe this will be the product to perk my skin up!

I've wanted to try this for a long time now, and I was gutted when I got it the first time in shades way to dark! Second time lucky?

As I think I said before, I would prefer my skin to look natural over flat and matte, plus I don't mind lighter foundations as that's what heavy duty concealers are for!

I'm not comitting myself to buying everything here, they're just things I would buy if I had the money which I don't - so I suppose the purpose of a wishlist is to have a shopping fantasy!

Thank you reading!

My Favourite Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardeners

Hey everyone!

I have had images for this post for a long time now, so I think's about time I wrote it all up!

As you can see, I am getting quite low on all of these so repurchases are in order! I will go through each one and give you a bit of a run down!

This was the product I used to get my nails back in shape after biting them for a few years. I would paint on two coats and renew it when it started coming off. This stuff is GENIUS, honestly! The first time I used this was when I was younger, at my grandmother's house. I was just messing about, as you do when your little and painted one nail wih this. A few days later, I tried to chew on my nails and I was so shocked, because I physically could not bite through my nails! This is a fantastic product for people wanting to make their nails stronger or who perhaps have weak nails from previous experiences. You can also get this in 'Natural' which has a pinky tint to enhance the natural colour of your nails.

The cheapest product I have to show you today is a very good offering from Barry M. I use this as a basecoat, which it does well at being! I do like it as a topcoat, if only it dried quicker! I find when I use this as a finishing polish I got to sleep and wake up with marks on my nails. If you can get past that, it is very good at providing longevity with your manicure and a nice shine. If you consider the price, you can't complain!

Probably the best product in this post is a very quick drying, long lasting topcoat from Essie. I actually found this one in TKMaxx for £3.99! I am in desperate need of a new one (I'm holding on until my birthday!) as this one has dried up slightly and become thicker. The reason why I love this is because it is extremely quick drying and also has a wet-look gloss. I can't believe how I got by before I used this, it is that amazing!

All of the products have been linked too, so if you want to give any of them ago you can!

Thank you for reading, don't forget my giveaway!

PS. Sorry my posts have been very short and snappy these days. I'm feeling a bit annoyed/off at the moment for personal reasons I wish not to explain, so currently I don't have the patience or time to get a full, in depth review done. I am going to get back on track this weekend, perhaps you would like to see a blog sale?
Let me know!

China Glaze and OPI Nail Polish Collection

Sorry to keep posting these collections on you guys, but today time is going so quickly this evening and I'm afraid an in-depth review isn't possible! A quick post then, this time on my China Glaze and OPI nail polishes.

First OPI, Metallic 4 Life from the Nicki Minaj collection. I love this, I dare say it's my favourite out of the whole lot! The base is a black crelly (cream/jelly) with different size silver glitters. On the nails, it is pretty much opaque in 3 coats and lasts a long time too!

Next OPI, 'Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?' From the Amsterdam collection, I love the name of this! The colour is a beige nude creme which is my second favourite! It is opaque in 2 coats and something I would consider a staple!

My third OPI, 'Thanks a Windmillion', also from the Amsterdam collection. This one is a  muted minty green that looks very sleek and posh on the nails! This is probably my least favourite, but the formula is amazing!

This is the last OPI I have to show you, called 'Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?' which is a medium/dark purple with coppery gold shimmer. This is such a unique gorgous colour with a great formula to match!

The first CG I have to show you is called 'Pink Plumeria'. This is a perfect toe colour for sandal season, as it is a neon corally peachy pink that adds a tan to my hands/feet. It has minute gold shimmer and dries matte, but a slick of topcoat gives it a beautiful glossy shine!

Lastly, China Glaze Man Hunt. I think this was part of the safari collection or something, but it is a medium blue bordering navy creme. This dries very glossy and looks really pretty on the nails! This is probably my favourite China Glaze colour, as it is so wearable and fits in with the nautical trends we see reappearing almost every year!

Is there any favourites of these brands you can recommend? Leave me a comment, I'd love to expand on my small collection!

That's all for today then!

Thank you very much for reading, don't forget my giveaway is still up and running!

Shoe Haul

Hey everyone!

I got 3 pairs of shoes today, which were very kindly purchased by my nan for my birthday! So, thank you very very very much nan, I love them all! :)

Matalan were having an offer that many pairs of shoes were £5. I got 3 pairs, so I'm sure you can do the maths there!

The first pair I got and which I was looking at on the internet were these nude pink court style wedges with gold detailing at the back. The original price for these ws £14, and although they are a little bit big, I think the smaller size would have been too small if it was there and I'm still growing anyways!
The hand shadow you can see in the bottom of the image is my nan taking the photo. Believe it or not, taking pictures of your own feet is very hard!

The next pair are these flat black leather (upper) ballerinas. I actually don't own any flat black simple shoes (shock horror!) so these will be very handy and are more comfortable than the ones Primark has to offer. The original price of these were £14.00 too!

Lastly, a pair of crazy wellies! Wellies can be very expensive, so seeing these for £5 was such a good bargain! The pattern is a bright tie-dye esque print of pink and purple. These were meant to be £12 so £7 was saved on this pair.

That was my mini shoe haul for you!
I was in need of some shoes so I'm glad I got the basics, and once again, thank you to my nan who got them for me! <3 (And who was my kind photographer too!)

Sadly, this offer ended on the 21st of April but I'm hoping this offer is an annual thing haha!

Thank you for reading!

My Powder Blush Collection

Hey everyone!

I showed you my cream blush collection a while back, so today I thought I would show you the powder forms I own. Although I do prefer cream blushers, I do have more powders so this post should be a bit longer than the last.

The first (and I believe most recent purchase in terms of blusher) is a 17 Oh So Spring Cheek Stamp in Coral. I couldn't photograph it with the other blushes due to the awkward shaped packaging so shadows covered the actual colour, but it is a beautiful peachy coral with gold specks. I need to wear this more, it looks so natural and pretty.

Next two, we have a now discontinued (I think) Color Trend blush in Cheeky. I got this from Avon quite a while ago and the shade of this one is another peach, with a frosty pearl shimmer. Then, to the right of that, you can see a Sleek Blush in Rose Gold. Perhaps a dupe of a rather well known Nars shade, I love this colour! It's a peach/coral with large gold shimmer that is probably the most pigmented colour I have. In this case, my blush is part of the Face Form kit. I really want to try a blush from Sleek called Pixie Pink, I've realised I'm lacking in brights these days!

The more neutral of blushers inlude Rimmel Smoked Oyster, a shade that could be put on the lower of your cheek and act as a blush/contour. If you've been following me for a while now, you might remember this was a product I managed to find in the Boots clearance bin, for 50p! Next to that, another sale find called Coral Rose from Rimmel, again. This was £1.50 but probably is my favourite! I would describe the actual colour as a pinky/neutral with some shimmer that looks like a glow on the cheeks so you can give highlighter a miss if you're wearing this! Then, on the end, is a blush from MUA in  Shade 6. I don't know why I got this, but it is an incredibly pigmented but slightly dusty brown with gold shimmer. If I ever have a blog sale, perhaps this would go in it as I sadly don't have a use for it!

These last three are the more pinky of the bunch. My first ever blusher is to the left, by Me Me Me. It' called a Blush Me! Blush Box in Pink. The colour is such a beautiful bubblegum pink with some slivery shimmer, and I've included another picture close up to show how beautiful it is!
Next, there is another MUA blusher which I really like which is Shade 2. It's a really pretty plum with pink shimmery specks that looks suprisingly natural on the cheeks. The first time I properly wore this was last weekend, which is very naughty of me considering this was purchased in early autumn! Oh well, it stayed on really nicely actually!
Then, the last sale/clearance bin find, a Natural Collection blusher in Sweet Cheeks. Again, this one is very pretty and natural, similar to a colour you would actually blush. I got this for 50p! The colour is a matte medium pinky/coral.

Here's the swatches then!
17 Coral, Color Trend Cheeky, Sleek Rose Gold, MeMeMe Blush Me! Pink, MUA Shade 2, Natural Collection Sweet Cheeks, Rimmel Smoked Oyster, Rimmel Coral Rose, MUA Shade 6.

Thank you for reading!

Can you recommend me any bright blushes? Looking at the swatches, my collection looks rather dismal ahah!

Would You Rather? Beauty TAG!

Hey everyone!

ENTER MY GIVEAWAY! 2X CLEARASIL PRODUCTS PLUS A FEW SUPRISES!

I love to read tags once in a while, so I found this one whilst searching for some to do. Nope, I was not tagged though :( I am working on a nice collection post for the weekend, so this is why today you get a tag! I'd rather perfect the post for tomorrow/Sunday and post this than give you an incredibly brief piece of text. Here you go then!

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
Ahhh! Ummm.... palettes and eyeshadows!

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Chop it off! I couldn't deal with split ends! I could always wear a wig!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral! I think it suits me better and

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Clothes I think because I would feel more guilty buying makeup!

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Liner as lipstick, I might find a pink liner ahah!

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
MAC, there isn't a Sephore in the UK!

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Lip colour! I could not only wear one eyeshadow. That would annoy me soooo much!

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Summer in Winter because I could layer them to keep warm!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails all year! I might get a bit depressed with dark nails everyday, I need something to cheer me up!

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Eye product, what would I do without lip balm? Ewwiiieee dry lips!

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Messy bun, if I learnt how to do it haha! No... actually... pony tail. They're easy and can be worn at the top of your head, the middle, flipped around to look all cool and twisted... yeah ahah!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss, I don't wear it a lot anyway! Painty my nails is too good to give up!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Errrr... hmmm..... Oh... My.... AHHH!!! No... can't decide! Eyebrows are like my favourite feature, so I would have to sharpie them! Gulp...

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Nail polish.

Well that was hard to decide on an answer!

Thank you for reading, come again soon!

Batiste Big & Bouncy XXL Volume Dry Shampoo

Hey everyone!

Today, I am reviewing a dry shampoo from Batiste called XXL Volume. The simple idea is that it adds volume as well as stopping your hair looking greasy!

The packaging itself is nothing too fancy, just a spray nozzle can that is easy to use. I'm not too keen on the pattern on the outside, but it does the job I suppose!

Straight to the point on this one, I don't like this at all. I adore the original Batiste dry shampoos, but I think it is the volumising quality in this one which does not agree with my hair! I find it makes my hair feel powdery and dry, and it even clumped so it looked as if I had a beautiful gathering of dandruff on my hair line. Mmmm... lovely. I don't think it added much volume to my hair either sadly, but my hair is fine and straight so I never really expect much volume wise  anyway. When I purchased this product, it was half price in Superdrug which is why I gave it a go.

On a more positive note, I do love the normal Batiste dry shampoos!

Do you like this product? Or is there any other volumising hair products or dry shampoos you can recommend?

Thank you for reading!

MUA Ameretto Crush Nail Polish

Hey everyone!

This was in a haul literally a couple of days ago, and I painted my nails in it straight away. I have now removed it and I feel I can write a full review for you all.

I'm sure this packaging is very recognisable to everybody, with a clear bottle and the stamped logo at the side, as well as the white lid. Can you guess? Yup. Just like the polishes Essie have to offer for £7.99, but this one was £1! I believe the bottles of the MUA have considerably less product though, and the quality is sadly not up to scratch, but I love the colour!

Now you've got the jist of the packaging, lets take a look at what it actually looks like on the nails.
I must point out, the next photo is more colour accurate as the two bottle shots make it appear more of a terracotta colour, which it isn't. I would describe the colour as a beautiful dusty medium pink, that my nan aptly called 'quiet pink'!

I am wearing 2 coats there. Application was okay, it did apply with very visible brush streaks but it self levelled which I was impressed by and left a sheen to the nails. The downside is that the wear time was very short! I woke up the next morning and I had already chipped the side of one finger, and sadly that continued throughout the day to the point where the majority of nails had polish at the side missing, and I didn't do anything too damaging to my nails the day I wore this either, plus I added a coat of Essie Good to Go, so I am a bit disappointed to report that the longevitiy of this colour was rather bad...

If you're after a cute colour for a few days, definitely give this one a go! As I said before, this was £1 from Superdrug though they will be on their website too. The colour range is pretty basic but lovely all the same, who doesn't love the staples?!

Thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post!

What do you think of the colour, any thoughts?
